The Explorer 1000 is the third most powerful model in Jackery’s hugely popular range of portable power stations equipped with a 1002Wh (21.6V, 46.4Ah) battery pack capable of producing 1000W of continuous power and 2000W of momentary peak power.

It’s target market is the serious camper and outdoor enthusiast who wants or needs a relatively light and compact independent power source that can easily handle a diverse set of the power needs for most, if not all, of their larger electrical appliances within its power rating (see below for a selection of equipmet it can power).

In the home it’s becoming more and more of a necessity to have some form of alternative source of power able to provide vital and reliable energy during a power outage and other unforeseen event, and for which the Explorer 1000 may be the perfect solution.

Compact and highly portable

Weighing 22lbs and measuring 13.1 x 9.2 x 11.1 inches, this is still a relatively compact unit and is light and with its balanced handle it’s easy enough to take with you.

Recharging

The Explorer 1000 has four methods of recharging – (1) AC wall socket, (2) solar panel(s), (3) your car’s 12V cigarette lighter-type socket, and via (4) a portable generator.

This model can use up to two of the recommended solar panels – Jackery SolarSaga 100 solar panel –. These highly efficient panels have a built-in MPPT controller to produce the maximum output and in the right conditions can provide you with almost limitless power.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to use Outdoors?

Yes, this power station can safely be used outdoors, but even though it is IP65 water-resistant, you must avoid rain, snow etc (see below).

Are the output ports regulated?

All the output ports on Jackey power stations are regulated, and the voltage will not change as the battery level reduces.

What solar panel can I use with this model?

The Jackery SolarSaga 100 is the recommended solar panel to get maximum benefit from the power station.

Can this unit be used in the rain?

A definite no, you should never use any power station in wet or damp conditions or expose it to rain, snow, or water spray as this could result in your electrocution.

Can I take this power station on a plane?

No, TSA regulations don’t permit Li-ion batteries over 100Wh to be taken on an aeroplane.

Can I use the power station while it is on charge?

Yes, it does support what is called pass-through charging, but it’s not recommended as it can reduce battery life.

Can I keep it plugged in just in case of a power outage?

Yes.

Is the battery user-replaceable?

No. Attempting to do so during the warranty period will void the warranty.

What extension can I use?

An extension no longer than 5 meters and rated no lower than 16AWG is recommended.
